There are a number of sites stating the All Disney Parks are eliminating the Guest Assistance Card as of 10/9/13. Is this true? If so, why? And will there be accommodations for guests with disabilities? My daughter is autistic & uses a wheelchair

Hi Sarah! No need to worry! Disney has always been, and continues to be, very committed to accommodating guests with disabilities. Disney will be replacing the Guest Assistance Card on October 9 with a new Disability Access Service Card, which will accommodate guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional queue due to a disability. As more and more guests request accommodations, Disney found it necessary to revamp the program in order to provide a more consistent experience for all park guests while continuing to assist those guests who have special needs. The new Disability Access Service Card will give guests with disabilities a return time for attractions they wish to experience. While the new card will work a little differently than the Guest Assistance Card, your daughter and others whose disabilities prevent them from waiting in the regular line will still be accommodated.
