We are going in November 2014. We have a 5 year old and a 6 year old. We always go to MK or AK. We want to go to either epcot or Hollywood studios, but aren't sure which is better for kids that age.

    Tia:

Although I feel that there is plenty in every Disney theme park for every age, if I had the choice, I would recommend that you take your 5- and 6-year-old to Hollywood Studios. There are just as many headliner attractions between the two parks but DHS gets the nod. Here's why:

    • The characters at Hollywood Studios are contemporary for today's kids. From Mater to Buzz Lightyear, the Incredibles to Phineas and Ferb, your children will have the best interaction with these characters than at any of the other theme parks.
    • The World Showcase is certainly memorable for the younger set, but there is more of Hollywood Studios that is relevant to them. Our family used to find ourselves skipping over several countries at a time at Epcot when the children were younger. At DHS, the only attractions we skip are those where our youngest didn't meet a height requirement. Thankfully, on our last trip, he was the 48 inches needed to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios is the smallest of theme parks. Navigating it doesn't take the effort that it does for Epcot, one of the two largest parks. Little legs last longer.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
