Going in nov.'13 and reserved at Sanaa in AKL for dinner at 5h15pm. The park will then be closed. How long should I plan to get back to PCR after dinner? I heard we had to pass by Downtown Disney? Is there any other way?

    Hi Annick,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

My family loves dining at Sanaa in Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Indian- and African-inspired food is delicious, and we enjoy watching animals on the savannah from the restaurant as we dine. Make sure you also check out the animal viewing area outside the restaurant with its rocking chairs and fire pit.

To get to the Pop Century Resort from Animal Kingdom Lodge, you have a couple of options. You can catch a bus to Downtown Disney and then transfer to a Pop Century bus. Or it might be a little faster to take a bus to Hollywood Studios -- which is between Animal Kingdom Lodge and your resort -- to catch your Pop Century  bus.

All the buses pick up at one station at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would probably just choose whichever one comes first, Downtown Disney or Hollywood Studios.

It will be a ride of about 15-20 minutes to Hollywood Studios, and about 20-25 minutes to Downtown Disney. Buses run about every 20 minutes from all locations, so, depending on your timing, it could take you up to an hour to get back to your resort.

The other option, if you are in a hurry, is to catch a taxi from Animal Kingdom Lodge. Taxis are readily available at the entrance to all the resort hotels and normally are less than $20, including tip, anywhere on Disney property.

One other transportation note: If you are Animal Kingdom during the day, you still will need to take a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is not within walking distance. Make sure you exit at the Kidani Village stop for Sanaa.

I hope that helps. The travel to and from Animal Kingdom Lodge to other resorts can be a little cumbersome, but I think you will find the Sanaa experience is worth it. Please let me know if I can offer any other assistance as your visit gets closer. Enjoy!
