I noticed that we may check in to our resort 60 days prior to arrival. What is the advantage/disadvantage of doing this at 50-60 days prior, or waiting until the 10 days before? Just curious! Can't wait to be there :)

    Joni,

For now I am not aware of any major advantage to getting it done all that far ahead of time. However, we don't get to look behind the magic curtain. I know that the reason for doing it sooner than later back in the 10-day window was that you stood a better chance of getting special requests granted.

So have they started allocating specific rooms to specific reservations earlier? No idea. But I would assume that the sooner you are in their queue, the better chance you have of getting one of those preference honored.

For me, I love to be near the hotel lobby. At Disney resorts there is so much to do in the lobby that I want to get to experience it all. Plus I like to shorten the walk. So I would get my reservation checked in as early as possible, just so I could get a better chance of being close to all the action!

    Have a magical vacation!
