    Renae from GA Asked

I am not staying at a Disney resort this time but at the Shades of Green. We all have magic bands from a previous trip. Can we use these again? Can we put a credit card on the bands to use throughout the park?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Renae! I stayed at Shades of Green with my extended family and really enjoyed it! The perks of being on Walt Disney World Resort property coupled with my brother’s military benefits made a fantastic vacation!

Yes, you can absolutely use your previous MagicBands while vacationing here. Of course, they will not act as hotel room keys but I adored having them act as my park tickets and FastPass+ reservation holders. I even purchased my parents a couple of new bands for that trip, and my mom still uses her Cinderella MagicBand for trips! Keep in mind that the battery and RFID chip inside a MagicBand only lasts about 3-4 years, so if your band if starting to age out, you may want to bring a spare, or have it tested out at Guest Relations. As far as charging privileges go, you can only place a credit card for charges if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Since Shades of Green is privately owned, this will not be possible.

I would love to assist you further as you plan for your military stay (thank you to your family for their service!), so please feel free to ask me another question. You have a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
