We're not staying at a dISNEY RESORT and have a ride at Magic Kingdom booked for 915am-10:15am. Other than parking in the theme park lot, what other cost-effective and ideally time saving transportation options are there for us?

    Hi Nadya!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Oh Boy, your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is next week! I know you must be getting oh so excited. (And actually, I'm bit jealous!)

I see that Magic Kingdom Park is due to open at 9:00 A.M. every day of your visit, which is just before your scheduled FastPass+ Reservation. The good thing to remember is that you have a whole hour to redeem that pass, so even if things are a little backed up getting through the bag check or entry gates, you can still enter that attraction queue all the way up until 10:15 A.M. Another thought is to reschedule this first pass to something later in the day as this park is usually at its emptiest during the first hour as late sleepers are still snoozing (me!) and others are finishing breakfast. You actually can get quite a lot done in the first 60 minutes in this park, even without a FastPass!

You already mentioned Parking at Magic Kingdom Park, which usually opens about 90 minutes prior to the park. Since all of Mickey's friends are welcome to use Disney's complimentary resort transportation to get around, if this were me I would take a taxi or have a friend drop me off maybe two hours earlier than the park opening at a Magic Kingdom area Disney Resort Hotel to first enjoy breakfast at a Quick Service dining location, and then travel to Magic Kingdom. If you dine at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, you can take the Monorail to Magic Kingdom. If you grab something from Disney's Contemporary Resort, there is a 10-minute walking trail complete with its own bag check station. Even Disney's Wilderness Lodge is accessible to Magic Kingdom Park thanks to a complimentary water taxi.

The only transportation options you have from Disney Springs, which is the closest part of Walt Disney World Resort to the real world, aka "off property", are to hail a taxi or order a car through a ride-service app. These options can only drop you off at the Ticket and Transportation Center, which is where you'll go through bag check with everyone else parking in the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot. (If you look at this map about Bus Transportation, the Ticket and Transportation Center is the number 2 marker for Magic Kingdom.) Or, if you order a Minnie Van through the Lyft App, you can be dropped off at the number 1 marker of Magic Kingdom, but I will say this option will cost the same as, if not a bit more than, parking in the lot.

I hope this information helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Nadya, and We'll See You Real Soon!
