Mom and Child wearing Magic Bands

We are not staying at a Disney resort. we have rented a vacation home. Should we purchase a magic band still and if so what will it do for us? We are thinking the kids would really like them but not sure if they will benefit us as we are not at resort

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shari!

I would still recommend purchasing MagicBands for your family. I bet your children will get a kick out of scanning their MagicBands Mickey-to-Mickey at park entrances and FastPass+ queues!

If you link your Tickets and MagicBands via your My Disney Experience account you will be able to reserve 3 FastPass+ selections, up to 30 days in advance of each theme park visit day. Unfortunately, you will not be able to use your MagicBands for in-park purchases. Since you are staying off-site, it's not possible to link your credit card to your MagicBands for in-park purchases and to pay for dining. That said, you may still use MagicBands for park Tickets, FastPass+ access and Disney PhotoPass® Service.

Disney Mom Tip: Do purchase the Memory Maker in advance, and link it to your My Disney Experience account too. Then wear your MagicBands on attractions offering PhotoPass photos and videos. When you see Disney PhotoPass Photographers, ask them for Magic Shots and Animated Magic Shots.

I hope you found this information useful, Shari. Please come back soon with more Disney vacation planning questions!

Wishing you a most magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
