If we are not staying at a Disney resort or have a meal plan. Would having the magic bands benefit us on our next Disney World visit?

Hi Sherry, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

To band or not to band - that is the question. And the answer is - well, it depends.

The benefit of using MagicBands at the Walt Disney World Resort is mostly about convenience. I like being able to just touch the MagicBand to the touchpoints to enter the Theme Parks and access FastPass+ attractions. And of course, opening your Resort hotel room door and paying for meals and merchandise is a snap, too. But if you're not staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, what is the benefit for you? While you won't be using MagicBands to get into your room or pay for things, you may still find the convenience of using them for park entry and FastPass+ access without having to fish an admission card out of your bag or pocket to be worth having them.

If you already have MagicBands from a previous visit, you can still use them for your upcoming trip. Just make sure you've linked your MagicBands to your current tickets, and you can start waving that band like a pro! If you don't have MagicBands yet, you can purchase them online from the Disney Store before your visit, or pick them up when you arrive at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps in your planning, Sherry. If you have any more questions, please stop by and see us again. We love to help!

    Have a magical day,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
