I am not staying at a Disney resort. I'm really confused about how to purchase tickets, do I need magic bands, can I still make dinner reservations?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Debra!

Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is a magical experience. But I understand how it can be a lot to take in. With so much to see, do, and plan, it can seem like a daunting task. But, you have come to the right place. We’re here to help!

Let’s get to it! Debra, the best place to start is by creating a My Disney Experience account. This site, along with a downloadable app, will be your best friend as you plan your vacation, and while you are there enjoying the parks!

To purchase park tickets, you can do so directly through the website. Once you have purchased those, link them to your My Disney Experience account so you can book your FastPass+, included with your tickets, up to 30 days in advance..

Advanced Dining reservations are open to all visiting guests and can be made up to 180 days in advance. Simply browse the restaurants and available times and reserve away! Be sure to lock those in as soon as possible as many popular restaurants book fast. Some of my favorites are ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and The Garden Grill at Epcot. Just some ideas to get you started!

Finally, MagicBands! This convenient wearable technology is available for purchase for guests staying off property. Your MagicBands will hold your tickets, FastPass+, and more. They are great to have, but you can tour the parks without them if you chose not to purchase.

This is just some info to give you a jump start to your planning. Do come back and see us again soon. It’s our pleasure to help you plan your magical trip! ~Emille
