    Laurel from IL Asked

If we are not staying on Disney property. When we are at the parks, can we use the monorail or other Disney transportation?

Hello, Laurel! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

From buses and boats to the Walt Disney World Monorail System, there are lots of fun ways to get around the Walt Disney World Resort. Even if you are not staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, you can still use Disney transportation to get where you need to go within the Resort. For instance, if you are playing at Magic Kingdom Park but then have a dining reservation at ‘Ohana  at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you can hop aboard the Resort Monorail or take a water taxi across the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can also use the monorail if you are spending the day at Epcot, but want to enjoy Happily Ever After that evening in Magic Kingdom Park. Busses are also available from the theme parks directly to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels if you plan to visit or dine at a hotel that isn’t accessible by foot, boat, or monorail.

If you’ll be traveling with little ones, keep in mind that your child will need to be removed from the stroller and the stroller will need to be collapsed in order to ride on a bus or a boat. You can generally keep your child in the stroller while riding the monorail. No matter which mode of transportation you choose, always allow for extra travel time. Often you will make a few stops before you reach your final destination. Additionally, if you are traveling between Epcot and Magic Kingdom Park via monorail, you will have to switch to a different monorail when you reach the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).

If you have any other questions, please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again. Have a magical day!
