Mom and Child wearing Magic Bands

I am not planning on staying on-site but would love to use the magic band features. Can I still put a credit card or gift card on the magic band so I won't have to bring it to the park with me (even tho I do not have a hotel reservation thru Disney)??

Hi, Jill! This is a really great question, so thank you for bringing it to us! To me, MagicBands are the coolest aspect of MyMagic+. With one flick of your wrist, you can be instantly connected to your My Disney Experience account, which houses all of your Advance Dining Reservations, Walt Disney World Resort park tickets, FastPass+ selections, and Disney PhotoPass pictures. At this time, only Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests are issued a complimentary MagicBand and are able to link a credit card to the MagicBand for purchases. Guests staying off-property, however, can still make use of the MagicBand technology.

Jill, if you have a MagicBand from a previous visit, you are welcome to use it during your upcoming visit as long as its batteries are still viable. They tend to last around two years. If you have linked your tickets to your My Disney Experience account, then you can access them and your FastPass+ selections with the MagicBand.

If you do not have a working MagicBand, you are more than welcome to purchase one while at the Resort, through the Disney Store, or even via the Shop Disney Parks app. You can link your new MagicBand to your My Disney Experience app or you can stop by any Guest Relations to have a Cast Member assist you with this.

I hope this information helps you as you continue to plan your upcoming visit. Please stop by again if you think of any other questions or need some ideas on how to make the magic endless during your Disney Parks vacation.
