What is the "normal" budget for the Princess week end? THis is my first and don't want to bee too cheap, yet don't want to buy anything I do not need! Should I do the Pasta dinner? What extras do you recommend?

    Hi Lyn!

The Princess Half Marathon is a great weekend!

As far as budgeting, you can go various routes.  There are host resorts available in all price categories, and they all offer free bus transportation to and from all race weekend events.  All of the Disney resorts are beautiful, clean, and fun, so if you wanted to save some money, you can go with a Value Resort.  Honestly, you won't be spending a whole lot of time in your room anyway, so that would be a great way to shave off some of the budget.

The Pasta in the Park party is fun.  You have to eat dinner that night anyway, so it's a great way to carb-load while meeting and making new runDisney friends.  If money is really tight, then you could skip that.

If there was one splurge I would recommend, it would be to purchase a Race Retreat package.  This includes use of a climate controlled tent on race morning.  There are chairs, tables, sofas, pre-race food and drinks, bathrooms, private bag check, character meet and greets, etc.  There is also a hot buffet of food for after the race and massages.  I can't say enough about the Race Retreat.  It is such a stress-free way to spend your time before the race, and a great place to recover after you cross the finish line.

You will also want to budget some for the expo.  There are lots of vendors with some really great products for sale, so definitely keep that in mind!

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any other questions!
