I want to get a new phone that supports Mobile Magic before coming to the parks June 14th. Can you tell me if or when the Mobile Magic will be available for the Droid phone.

Hi, Sharon! I have a Motorola Droid with Verizon and have been watching closely to see when the device gets added to the list of supported devices for Mobile Magic. The Disney Parks blog has been routinely updating the list when new devices support the exclusive Verizon app. The latest blog update said that "The list of Verizon Wireless phones that Mobile Magic will be available on is expected to grow to include “touch” handsets and smartphones in the upcoming weeks."

Personally, I'd say go for it and get the Droid. It's easily the best device that Verizon offers (and I've been a Verizon loyalist for eight years now.) Eventually the Droid will support the app (and Verizon will get the iPhone, but that's another topic for another day!.)

If the Droid doesn't support Mobile Magic by your trip on June 14, there are a number of other ways that you can plan like a pro with insider-esque practices on your device.

First and foremost, get Lines from the Android Market. It's the mobile app for TouringPlans.com and is free for subscribers. In fact, a year subscription to the TouringPlans website, which includes the Lines app, is cheaper than the 180 subscription to Mobile Magic. I wouldn't call it a consolation prize, but it is a pretty sweet trade off.

You can also access Disney Parks information by visiting Disney.com on your Droid. It will automatically detect your device and switch over to mobile mode.

Be sure to bring your charger in the parks. The Droid has a decent battery life, but it never hurts to plan ahead (the Rose Garden at Magic Kingdom is a great place to recharge.)

Let me know if we can help out with any other questions!
