How does the new DAS work for diabetics? Last time we were told we would be able to leave line if blood sugar drops and reenter, but it sounds like the new DAS wouldn't really work that way? Thanks!!

    Welcome back, Amanda!

As a mom to a son with special needs, I understand how important it is to have alternate plans "in your tool belt" for times where family members may need a break due to health concerns. There have been several times that my family needed to leave the queue to attend to my son's health issues.

The Disability Access Service (DAS) is designed to provide a virtual wait time for those who are unable to wait in a regular queue. Guests can obtain a return time that allows them to enter the FastPass+ queue at a specific time, usually about ten minutes less than the posted wait time. During the wait, Guests are welcome to grab a bite to eat, do a little shopping, experience another attraction or wait in a less crowded area. Another benefit is that the DAS return time does not have an expiration window like the FastPass+ system does. On a recent visit, my son had some hydration issues, and we needed to leave an attraction queue. I alerted the nearest Cast Member, who led us to an alternate exit. We were given a second return time, but he still needed a little more time before returning. Once he was ready, about an hour later, we returned without any issues. If you find a family member does need to leave the queue, let a Cast Member know so they can assist you in exiting safely. We have found that Cast Members are eager to help and will provide another return time for that attraction.

DAS can be requested at any theme park Guest Relations. Simply tell the Cast Member your family member's needs so the best advice is offered for your family's situation. I hope this helps to answer your question, and you can focus on having a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Please visit us again should you have another question!
