I will need to rent an ECV when I visit the parks due to a disability. I don't want for the other guests in my party to feel obligated to push me in a wheelchair all day long. How long will the ECV run without the battery dying?

    Hi Theresa,

ECVs are available for rent at each of the four theme parks. They are limited & sale out early. Advanced reservations are not accepted - they are rented on a first come basis. I'd recommend getting to the parks early to ensure you are able to obtain one. The cost for rental is $45 per day plus a $20 refundable deposit (prices are always subject to change).

If your ECV's battery dies, contact the nearest Cast Member or the rental location. They may bring you another ECV or tell you where you can safely plug it in to recharge the battery.

Keep in mind that ECVs cannot leave the park. If you rent an ECV at one park & hop to another park the same day, retain your receipt to show at the next park to get another ECV - if there is one available.

If you'd like to guarantee that you will have an ECV at the parks or need assistance outside the parks during your trip, you may want to consider renting one from an outside source. Buena Visa Scooters is one such vendor (www.buenavistascooters.com ) .

If you have never used an ECV before, they take a little getting used to - especially in crowds like at WDW. I'd suggest going to a store that offers them for customers & practice. It will make things go a lot more smoothly once you are at WDW.

There are some attractions that you will be able to remain in the ECV to enjoy. Others require that guests transfer to wheelchairs. There are some attractions that require guests to be mobile to board the ride vehicles. For a list, visit the Mobility Disabilities section on the WDW website by clicking here. Also keep in mind that Cast Members are not allowed to lift guests while boarding or getting off of attractions.

Wishing you many magical memories :-)
