Do you need a passport book or can you just have card for a cruise?

Welcome aboard, Holly! It sounds like you're planning a magical sailing with Disney Cruise Line!

U.S. citizen guests traveling to the Bahamas and Caribbean can travel with one of a few documents. Read about the details on the Travel Documents page of Disney Cruise Line's website. The short answer is that passport books or cards are not required. I like to travel with a full passport book, as it better protects me in the event of an emergency in a foreign port. However, adults can travel with a government issued photo ID and a copy or original of state-issued birth certificate. Children under 16 traveling with their parents only need a copy or original of their state-issued birth certificate.

I hope those details help as you continue to plan! Stop back if you have other questions before you set sail!
