Do we need to have a Magic Band to use the Memory Maker that we are planning on purchasing? We are staying off-site so if we need to have it, I need to go ahead and order the Magic Band from the Disney Store website.

Hey, Katherine! MagicBands have made a day in the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks so much easier. Everything I need, from FastPass+ selections, theme park tickets, Advanced Dining Reservations and Memory Maker, is stored online in My Disney Experience, which we have access to via our linked MagicBands. Even Guests staying off-site can utilize this technology. While it is not required, some Guests staying off-site do choose to pre-purchase their MagicBand online at www.DisneyStore.com/MagicBands or via the Shop Disney Parks app so that they can link it to their My Disney Experience account from home, giving them easy access to their theme park tickets and Memory Maker as soon as they arrive. You can wait to purchase one at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel or theme park, at which time Guest Relations can assist you with linking your tickets and MagicBands to your My Disney Experience account. There is a much wider selection of MagicBands in the parks and hotels, including my new favorites - ghoulishly fun purple ones themed to Haunted Mansion and Disney Villains!

To make sure your family members are able to access the Memory Maker entitlement, you need to add every Guest and link their MagicBand to your Family & Friends list in your My Disney Experience account. This way, if any family member stops by a PhotoPass location or enjoys an attraction that features on-ride photography or video, then their picture or video will automagically be added to the Memory Maker in your My Disney Experience account.

I hope you have a magical vacation at Walt Disney World and please let me know if you have any further questions.
