Need a lot of advice. I want to plan a trip to WDW next year around the beginning of August. It will be our 30th Anniv. Don't need luxury just memorable. I know alot of stuff we want to do just need to find inexpensive ways.

    Hi Terri,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How lovely to spend your thirtieth anniversary at the Walt Disney World Resort. My husband and I spent our honeymoon there 18 years ago!

First, you need to decide which resort hotel fits your budget. When my husband and I traveled by ourselves, we stayed in moderate resorts. Disney's Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans - French Quarter were perfect for us. These resorts are affordable and spacious with terrific walking/jogging trails. Port Orleans - French Quarter makes you feel as if Tiana herself is in the kitchen cooking a great big pot of gumbo. Stop by to hear the Port Orleans French Quarter Live Music at Scat Cat's Club.

Second, decide how many days you need park tickets. At a minimum, I suggest you do four day-base tickets. Though the Park Hopper option is nice, my family has decided that we can do without it to save money. Purchase a dining plan and be sure to celebrate your anniversary at a special restaurant - we love to dine at California Grill or 'Ohana during the Happily Ever After fireworks show. Be sure to make reservations!

I have a few other inexpensive suggestions:

    • Make a pre-park opening breakfast reservation then enjoy the park without the crowds for a few minutes before your reservation.
    • Grab a spot just in front of Cinderella Castle for the fireworks - get there early, an hour or an hour and a half early
    • Rent bikes and explore the area
Terri, even though this trip might not be as inexpensive as you want it to be, I have come to learn that time and love are precious. Live this moment and celebrate together!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
