Need some help, what are the differences between standard and preferred rooms at P.O.R? We want a nice room that will be close to food courts and bus stops as my mom has trouble walking. Which is nicer Magnolia or Alligator Bayou???

The preferred rooms in both Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend at Port Orleans Riverside sit nearer the main buildings and restaurants. There are multiple bus stops around the property, so even if you choose a Standard Room, you have the opportunity to request a room near a bus stop.

Although my family typically stays at Alligator Bayou, Magnolia Bend's well-manicured lawns and fountains appeal to me, not to mention their perch next to the Sassagoula River. Take a moment to go here and click on the link under each room description that says "View Photos" to look for yourself. If I had a choice for me and my own mom, I'd go with Magnolia Bend. When you make your reservation, ask for a room near a bus stop rather than requesting a specific building, so that Disney knows what you're looking for.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
