Do you need the extra magic hours in order to see the Rivers of Life or tree of awakening? We are going in September and I believe the park closes at 8pm if I’m not mistaken

Hey, Vilmarie and welcome to the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, muppetational Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you for bringing this question to us because we know that Rivers of Light is one of the "crown jewels" of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Theme park hours are the set times allowing Guests to enter the theme park. Guest inside when the park reaches official closing time will be able to stay for any evening show or any attractions they were in line for when the theme park officially closed. No evening Extra Magic Hours is necessary to enjoy this Fantasmic! display of light, color and imagination during the month of September. So please get your wonder and amazement emotions ready from Rivers of Light and Tree of Life Awakenings.

Disney Dad Tip: If you are spending the day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, I would recommend checking out three magical experiences that get you up close to the animal action for a wild time. Caring for Giants brings you backstage to see how the African elephants are treated while Up Close with Rhinos may even put you nose to horn with these exceptional creatures. The tours are approximately 60 minutes long and will be memories that last a lifetime. For a truly immersive experience then check out the Wild Africa Trek. We saw hippos being fed, walked across a suspension bridge hovering over a bask of crocodiles, and dined with a delicious african-inspired tiffin in the savannah. It was amazing.

Vilmarie, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
