Do we need to book dining reservations for infants under 1 year and/or children under 3

    Hi Ruth,

Making advance dining reservations is my favorite part of planning my family's Walt Disney World vacations. There are so many great and varied dining options to choose from across the resorts, parks and Disney Springs!

As you may know, children under the age of 3 are admitted free to the Walt Disney World theme parks, and they eat free in the Disney restaurants when they share from your plate or join you at the all-you-care-to-eat dining experiences. While you won't have to pay for infants and young children, you should include them in the numbers for your dining reservations. This assures that there are enough seats at your table and helps the restaurant manage its capacity numbers for safety reasons.

When you check at each restaurant, the host or hostess will ask how many children in your party. You can let them know then that your numbers include some little ones.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, Ruth. Please let us know if you would like recommendations on our favorite dining experiences or tips on traveling to Walt Disney World with little ones. This guide of advice for visiting with preschoolers may have lots of information that will be useful for you, including a list of attractions that are appropriate for little ones.

    Enjoy your visit!
