2 ?s: Do we need ADRs for Planet Hollywood in DT disney or can we walk up; getting mixed answers. Dining @ Akersus-menu seems "fancy" and we are picky eaters. Really just dining there for 7 yo daughter. How accomodating r they w/ altering menu it

    Hi Laura!

While ADRs aren't always necessary, I'd definitely recommend that you do make Advance Dining Reservations if you know where you'd like to dine on a particular day. Planet Hollywood does accept reservations online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE. Depending on time of year and time of day, you can definitely get lucky by simply walking up to check for availability, but I'd hate for you to be disappointed if it's unavailable at the time you had hoped for!

Disney Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is my number one favourite location for Princess dining. Although our family isn't terribly picky, I do find the menu at Akershus to be a bit more challenging for some families. For this reason, we always chose to dine with the Princesses at breakfast time. If you can secure a breakfast reservation there, I'd highly recommend it as being most enjoyable for everyone. If lunch or dinner better suit your family's schedule, by all means, go for it!

I think you'll be surprised to learn just how accommodating Disney's chefs can be. After perusing the menu, decide what looks palatable for your picky eaters, and chat with your server about options. Removing a sauce or replacing a side dish are sometimes all it takes to come up with your perfect dish. Other times, your server may be able to advise of alternative, plainer options the chef is willing to prepare for you. For children, there are often some 'stand by favourites' on hand in the kitchen such as mac and cheese or a pb&j sandwich! Don't be afraid to ask - you won't be the first picky eaters your server or chef have had to accommodate - and you certainly won't be the last! I've dined at Walt Disney World with the pickiest of picky eaters as well as severe allergies and intolerances. Everyone has always been accommodated and never left hungry!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World Laura!
