    Kristy from CA Asked

Is it necessary to make reservations at the smaller casual restaurants or even buffets? Or would you think it’s only needed for the larger character ones or higher priced ones? I was surprised and overwhelmed to see the list of restaurants to reserve at.

    Hello Kristy!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question. You are correct; there are MANY options to choose from when it comes to dining at the most magical place on earth. The last time I checked, 134 restaurants accept reservations at the Walt Disney World Resort! To avoid disappointment, I recommend making reservations at any dining location that you want to visit.

I think the best approach is to identify which parks you will be visiting on each day and plan from there. For example, on one of our Magic Kingdom days, we always eat a late breakfast at The Crystal Palace and then dinner at Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. On our Epcot day, we graze around World Showcase for lunch and then have a nice sit-down meal in the BoardWalk Inn area- I  can't say enough about Flying Fish! The Dining Reservation page on the Walt Disney World website has the option to filter results based on location,  type of meal (buffet, casual, fine, etc), and cost.  Using the filters can help narrow down your choices.

If you want more recommendations on some of our favorite places, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel- we love to help!

    See ya real soon,
