Hi myself husband and son are arriving for 2 weeks 5th April 2018. My son will be having his 5th birthday whilst we are there. What could I do extra to make his day more special.

Hello Sally and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I have to say it's always added fun for me to sprinkle extra pixie dust onto Guests like me who hail from the United Kingdom and this is particularly so when it's to celebrate a young Mouseketeers 5th birthday!
April and Spring at Walt Disney World Resort is a wonderful time of the yEar for a visit and I especially encourage you to explore the 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival as I'm sure your little one will love seeing all the amazing topiary displays.
My top birthday tips are to be sure to add your son's special day to your Resort reservation and to collect a complimentary 'I'm celebrating' badge (or button) which are available from most Guest Relations.
It's easy to Customise your Celebration with personalised Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort which can be pre-ordered up to 72 hours in-advance and delivered to most Table Service restaurants on Disney property or as an alternative simply add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake upon arrival to any existing Advanced Dining Reservation or from your Resort hotel lobby concierge desk.
Plus you may wish to create an in-room birthday surprise with the help of Disney Floral & Gifts!
