Hi, we (myself, hubby & 11yr old son) are planning our 1st trip to Orlando next year to do Walt Disneyworld and the other parks. How long do we need to see most of the parks? & which is the closest, convenient Disney resort/hotel to stay at? Thank

    Hi Jane,

I have a tween-age son too!  He loves Walt Disney World as much as I do.

Be sure to allow yourself a minimum of four days to spend in the Disney theme parks.  That gives you one full day for each of the main parks.  If you could toss in an extra day to explore a Disney water park and Downtown Disney, that would be even better.  If your son loves electronic games, he'll want to check out DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney.

Walt Disney Resort is a huge vacation destination so there is no one Disney resort that is closest to everything.  If you're hoping to be close to the Magic Kingdom, I recommend that you stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  It is a deluxe resort with amazing theming.  Because it is not on the monorail line it is a good bit more affordable than the other deluxe Magic Kingdom area resorts.

If you'd prefer to be close to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, book a room at either Disney's Beach Club Resort or Disney's Boardwalk Inn.  Both of these are a short walk from two of the main theme parks.  I promise your family will enjoy either of these Epcot-area resorts.

Please feel free to keep the questions coming as you plan your trip.  We'd be happy to tell you anything you want to know about the most magical vacation destination on earth!
