We are going to MVMCP on Nov. 9--how early should we start to save "curb" seats on Main Street? In 2010 when we attended we only saw the parade--what other activities should we try to so with our 5 year old?

Hi, Jen!  If you are going to the first parade and want to be right on Main Street, you'll start to see people staking out their spots up to an hour ahead of time.  If you wait until the second parade, you can usually get pretty decent curb seats even up to 20 minutes before the parade begins.  I usually take the time to pick up a snack and a drink before we grab a spot, and that way the kids will sit happily munching while they wait.  It helps pass the time.

When you arrive, pick up a time guide that will give you a list of the shows and attractions that are unique to the party.  You will find a stage show in the castle foreground that is always very popular, and you might want to wander around and see some of the characters in holiday finery.  Enjoy the hot cocoa and holiday cookies, too - maybe while you wait for the parade.

Don't forget to visit your favorite attractions.  You will often find shorter lines than you do during the day or at other time at the Magic Kingdom.  It's a great time to do and see stuff that you might not want to wait for during the day.

    Have an awesome time!
