Hi MP! Staying in a preferred room at POR for 10nights. I'm super excited but w/2adults & 3children we will be crammed so any tips on storage in the room? Also, which preferred location is the best in the alligator bayou & are shampoo & conditi

Hi there Mandi. I could just feel your enthusiasm as I was reading your question and you know what? You have every reason to be excited because "You're Going to Disney World!"

Port Orleans Riverside is by far my favorite of the Moderate Resort locations and was my very first onsite Disney resort hotel experience. So, this area of the Old South will always have a special place in my heart! Several of the Alligator Bayou Lodges have rooms that are unique due to the added ability to sleep up to 5 guests with an extra fold-down Murphy bed. These beds are about 63" in length and are suitable for children aged up to about ten years, but would probably be too small for most adults over 5 ft in height.

Due to your travel party size, I would recommend that you look at some options for "hanging storage" at your local discount retail store. These are essentially collapsible canvas shelf organizers that you could hang in your guest room closet. The added space and the ability to even label each shelf for each child would be an ideal way to stay organized. There are about a total of three storage drawers already in your guest room underneath the TV/ Murphy bed area that you could then designate for the adults in your group.

A great unofficial website for all-things Port can be found at: http://www.portorleans.org. Be sure to check out the suggestions for "Ideal Room Locations and Making Special Requests" for extensive details and maps on how to choose the best preferred resort area for your family's needs.

You'll also be happy to know that complimentary toiletry products to include soap/ shampoo/ conditioner will be provided by Mouse Keeping daily so, that's one less set of items you'll need to pack in your suitcase!

Thanks for visiting us here at the Moms Panel! Feel free to send more questions my way prior to your trip!
