We just moved to South Florida and want to go to DisneyWorld. It would be our first time. We want to go back home at the end of the day. We hope to go often now that we are a little close. Is a day enough to have a good experience?

    Hi Barbara ~

I'm so excited for you that you have moved to Florida and closer to my pal Mickey! I'll be perfectly honest with you, anytime I can grab even a few hours and head to the Walt Disney World Resort is totally worth it to me. I think that you can have a fabulous experience in one day. Can you see it all in a day? No. Will it leave you wanting more? Absolutely! But the good news for you is that you are close enough to visit more often.

Here are some things I'd recommend when planning a day visit the Walt Disney World Resort:

    * Purchase your theme park tickets in advance and link them to your My Disney Experience so you can make FastPass+ selections prior to your trip. Guests who are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can start making FastPass+ selections 30 days in advance.
    * Make Advanced Dining Reservations. All Guests can begin making them starting 180 days prior to your trip. You can make reservations through the link I've provided, on the My Disney Experience mobile app or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
    * Plan to be at the theme park you plan to visit when it opens.
    * Select your 3 "must dos" and make those your priority.
    * Bring your own water and snacks to avoid waiting in line for them.
    * Plan to eat an early lunch and dinner to avoid the crowds.

As soon as you are able to provide proof of Florida residency, you can take advantage of Florida Resident Special Offers. You may want to consider purchasing an Annual Pass and take advantage of complimentary parking and discounts at some dining and merchandise locations. That can save you a lot of money.

Please feel free to visit us again with all your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
