    Jennifer from PA Asked

I am a mother of a special needs child. I have read about the new policy that Disney has installed. I can not say that she will have issues or not but my question is do you think II should get the card as a just incase thing.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Jennifer ~

As the Mom of a special needs child, I've learned that every Mom knows their child better than anyone.  However, that doesn't mean that you can predict how your child is going to react in every situation especially one full of different types of stimulation like Disney.

If you think that the Disability Access Service (DAS) Card may assist you, then you should stop by Guest Relations as you enter the first theme park during your trip to request one.  If you think that you may be okay without one, you could try without it and see how well your daughter handles the parks.  If at any point during the day (or trip) you see that your daughter is having difficulties and you think the DAS would help her access the attractions, you could always go to Guest Relations and request one.

I'm not sure what types of special needs your daughter has but I answered a question with details of how the DAS works that may help you.  I am happy to answer any additional questions as well.

Here's a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
