    Hi Mary Ellen!

Many moons might have passed but many things have remained the same at the great Fort Wilderness Resort. You are still able to take the small boats that will sail to both the Wilderness Lodge as well as the Contemporary Resort.

This route actually begins before the boats to the Magic Kingdom which will only operate 30 minutes before the park opens. The Contemporary/Wilderness Lodge boats will begin at 6:45am each morning. This allows guests to reach the park in time if they have an early morning dining experience at the Magic Kingdom.

Once you reach the Contemporary Resort you can either hop on the monorail or simply walk to the Magic Kingdom park. I will always opt for the walk as it is not long and it is actually much faster then taking the monorail all around the circle.  If you are trying to get to another monorail resort then by all means hop on it as that is the most efficient way.

Enjoy your Fort Wilderness stay and your magical Disney vacation!
