What can my 21 month-old realistically do at both water parks? I know the lazy river and the wave pool, but is there anything else for children that young? I love the waterparks, but would rather spend the time somewhere else if there isn't a lot for DD?

    Hi Nathan,

My family love the water parks and have a good time when we visit them during our vacations to the Walt Disney World Resorts. While we started taking our children when they were toddlers to the main parks, we did not experience the water parks until they were older. This was due in part to us vacationing in the cooler weather during their first trips and I would have frozen if we did.

While Typhoon Lagoon has a rocking wave pool (do you know you can surf on those waves), a snorkel pool and water roller coasters, this park is designed for the older children. You will want to head to Blizzard Beach for this trip with your little one.

Blizzard Beach boasts not only a fun lazy river but also great family rides such as Teamboat Springs and Runoff Rapids, they also have two really fun kid-approved areas. Tike's Peak is designed for the toddler and only children under 48 inches are allowed to play here. If you have a more adventurous 21-month-old, head to Ski Patrol Training Camp and spend some time here on slides or walking on icebergs.

I find that this park is designed for families to experience the water together.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
