I have a 11, 5, and 3 month old. I was wondering if my husband could ride the rides first with older kids and then If I could pass the baby to him and ride as a single rider without having to wait in line by myself?

    Hi, Amber!

Yes, Guests with children who don’t meet the minimum height requirement may take turns experiencing attractions using the Rider Switch program at the Disneyland Resort. It allows an adult (and older children) to ride while another adult waits with a younger child or baby. You then "switch" so the second adult can enjoy the attraction without waiting all over again. The specific procedure can vary depending on the attraction, though (especially if Disney’s  FASTPASS Service is offered), so it’s best to let a Cast Member at the beginning of the queue know you’d like to use Rider Switch and ask what steps you should follow.

For example, when my family used Rider Switch to ride California Screamin’ without using Disney’s FASTPASS, we told a Cast Member at the stand-by queue and he issued us a special pass. If your family does this, one parent and the baby will exit the queue, and one parent and the older children will stay. Once your party is reunited, the second adult (along with an older child who may wish to ride a second time) will take the Rider Switch pass through the Disney FASTPASS queue to experience the attraction with a minimal wait. I haven’t personally used the FASTPASS Service and Rider Switch option together, but according to a Cast Member, the process is the same except that the initial riders’ wait time may be significantly shorter.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the Disneyland Resort, Amber. Please write back with any other questions you may have as you continue planning your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
