we will have a 20 month old with us as well as our 3.5 yr old so we will be utilizing the baby swap or rider switch option. How does this work with the fastpass+ system? im a little confused on how to reserve things like splash mountain or thunder mtn....

    Hi Christine,

I am happy you have already learned about the fantastic Rider Switch Service offered at Walt Disney World.  You will be happy to know that the Rider Switch Service is independent of whether or not you are using Disney FastPass+ service.  In other words you may use the Rider Switch Service for the adult who is waiting with the child/children no matter if the first adult riding is using the standby line or the FastPass+ line.  For most attractions which offer this service, the Rider Switch Service enables the adult who waited to enter the FastPass+ line when it is their time to board the attraction.  The Cast Members at each attraction can help you with any questions and direct you where to go when it is your turn.

When deciding upon which attractions to make FastPass+ selections, you might first measure your 3.5 year old child and decide which attractions he/she is tall enough to ride.  This will help you decide how many FastPass+ selections to make for the attractions you would like to experience.  Personally when vacationing with my own little ones who haven't been tall enough to board some of the rides, I have usually made one FastPass+ selection for my husband (plus any of the other children who are tall enough to ride) for the ride in which we intended on using Rider Switch Service.  While my husband and other children were experiencing the ride I would go enjoy some other activities with the youngster who wasn't able to ride.  Then when my husband returned from his ride I would switch places with him and use the Rider Switch Service pass/ticket to board the ride.

    Have a Disney Day!
