Is there a monorail schedule or is it known how often it runs and maybe a location map? I would like to plan our routes and time frame prior to our first visit!!! :-)

    Hello, Jennifer,

The monorail is a great way to get around Walt Disney World, and there are essentially 3 different monorails routes.

Two travel around the Seven Seas Lagoon. One is a resort monorail that makes the following stops on a continuous loop:  Disney's Contemporary Resort, the Ticket and Transportation Center, Disney's Polynesian Village, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, and the Magic Kingdom. The second one is another continuous loop between the Ticket and Transportation Center (Magic Kingdom parking) and the Magic Kingdom. The third monorail route runs round-trips between the Ticket and Transportation Center and Epcot.

The monorail does not go to Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, and the water parks. It also only goes to the resorts mentioned above. However, there is bus transportation and water transportation available. If you'd like to read more about Disney transportation, you can do an internet search for A Walt Disney World Transportation Primer: Monorails, Buses, and Boats, Oh My
    by Erin Foster,
which is a thorough article to help you with your planning.

The monorail begins running one hour before the earliest park opening and runs until one hour after the latest park closing. Monorails around the Seven Seas Lagoon run about every 4-7 minutes while the ones going to and from Epcot have a little bit longer wait between them.
