    Karmen from NY Asked

Will the monorail be running for the marathon during the runDisney 2019 event in January? Is it possible to see marathon runners during the race near the Grand Floridian? Thanks!

Hello Karmen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I hope your training for the 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is going better than mine. My wife and I are set to attempt the Dopey Challenge this upcoming year and I am unsure how I will end up when its all said and done.

One of the best reasons to stay at a Deluxe Walt Disney World Resort Hotel on the monorail line during Marathon Weekend is that they offer early morning transportation for Guests to the starting line at Epcot without the need of getting on a bus. So enjoy your early morning ride on the "highway in the sky" on race day!

Unless the route changes for the 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon(unlikely), the racers will be passing in front of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at around the 7-mile mark of the Marathon. Based on timing and corral placement for runners, it is possible to estimate a time when you can expect a particular runner to pass by.

In fact, using the RunDisney Tracking & Spectator Resources, you can follow a runner throughout the entire race and get an idea of where they are at any given point.

    Have a Fabulous Race Weekend!
