    Sheila from NC Asked

Hi Moms This will be me and my children first time visiting Disneyland California. My 9 year old has down syndrome and she will be 11 years old when we visit Disneyland. Should I plan more sit down time for her? Should I use a scroller or wheelchair

Hi, Sheila! Hooray! I am so thrilled that you and your family will be visiting the Disneyland Resort for the first time!

The Disneyland Resort has many Guest Services available the make touring the parks accessible, easy, and efficient for all Guests. If there is something that you can take advantage of to help make your visit smoother, then I say go for it! If your child has mobility issues, then definitely take advantage of the wheelchair rentals available at the parks. They are available for a daily fee and can be used in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. You will want to read up on which attractions accommodate wheelchairs and which would require the Guest to transfer into a ride vehicle. Also, these guides for Guests with disabilities for Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will explain where to enter attractions if you're in a wheelchair, where to find companion restrooms, and more.

Also, I think planning time to rest is essential for everyone! With so much to see and do, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and tired. Plan time each day to head back to the hotel for naps, enjoy a table service meal, or sit and relax by some tranquil spots like along the Rivers of America or on Paradise Pier. These rest times are made even better with the addition of a Dole Whip or a Mickey ice cream bar!

I hope this information was helpful! Have a magnificent visit!
