Hi Moms, I have reservations at both the Hoop Dee Doo Review and Whispering Canyons. Is Whispering Canyons too similar to Hoop Dee Doo that I should look to make a reservation elsewhere? Thanks.

    Hi, Robert!

Great choices. Both Whispering Canyon Cafe (WCC) and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue offer entertainment with a cowboy flair.

The two restaurants, while certainly similar in "theme" (i.e. both have the "cowboy aesthetic"), are completely different in menu and in experience.

The menus, available through the Disney Dining Web site, differ considerably from one another, although both are all-you-care-to-eat and served family-style. The fare at WCC is brisket and pork, for example, while Hoop-Dee-Doo offers fried chicken and ribs.

The major difference, however, is that WCC is a restaurant with some activities for the children (stick-horse races around the room), while Hoop-Dee-Doo is an entire show, loaded with audience participation. At WCC, you are at a traditional restaurant; at Hoop-Dee-Doo, you are at dinner theater.

I wouldn't cancel either reservation. You're sure to have a great time in either case - and definitely walk away full and happy.

Make sure to try the milkshake at the Whispering Canyon Cafe -- and save room for the shortcake at the Hoop-Dee-Doo!

    See you later, celebrator,
