Hi Moms! I am planning a trip August 2010 with my BF. He is a first timer! I have been reading books saying that during sometimes not all the rides are running. We are planning most likely the first week in Aug. Will all the rides be open?

There often are one or two attractions at a time at Walt Disney World that are not operating. This is almost always due to regular ride maintenance or ride enhancements. The closures are listed on the Disney parks calendars under the phrase "operational updates." For example, HERE you can see that Space Mountain is currently undergoing refurbishment.

The wonderful independent website allears.net aggregates the operational updates for all four of Disney's theme parks. Search that site for an article called "rehabs & closings." It may be easier to find all the information you need there.

There have not yet been any operational announcements pertaining to August 2010. If there are any, i would expect to seem announced in the early winter of 2010.
