    Hi moms.I will be arriving in Orlando from Canada.I read that I have to pick up my own luggage and bring it with me to customs. Is this true? I do know that I will receive the Magical Express documents by mail.How long before the trip will this be? Thx

    Hello Sonia,

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another great question. You must be getting closer to your trip now - how exciting!! 

    I have some great news for you: as Canadians, we get to “pre-clear” U.S. Customs in Canada, so you don’t need to go back through U.S. Customs when you land at Orlando International Airport. This means that you attach your Disney’s Magical Express tags to your luggage in Canada and by-pass going to retrieve your bags at baggage claim, if you choose to have them delivered straight to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. 

    As for when you’ll receive your documentation (including your luggage tags), I’ve typically received it for my trips about 3-4 weeks before my trip. If you don’t receive your package by then, I would recommend contacting Disney’s Magical Express in order to find out whether they’ve been shipped out. If you follow the link I provided above, click on “Pre-Arrival” and call the phone number for “U.S. and Canada Reservations”.
