    Hazel from CA Asked

Hi Moms, I am an annual pass holder at Disneyland and I will be visiting Disneyland this month and WDW in May for my birthday. I will be traveling for the first time with my new service dog. I was wondering what tips you had for those with service dogs?

    Hello Hazel!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you are having a magical week!

Disneyland Resort has a few tips in place for those who will need to bring a service animal into then Parks. I would visit Guest Relations upon entering the Parks to talk to a Cast Member to have them explain the guidelines. I do know that Cast Members are not authorized to watch service animals while Guests are on rides. Guests with service animals should follow the same attraction entrance guidelines as Guests who use wheelchairs.

Due to the nature of some attractions, service animals may not be permitted to ride. At these locations, you can ask a Cast Member about available options, including Rider Switch with a member of your party or a portable kennel.

Disneyland Resort also offers areas for “relief” for service animals, but the Guests are expected to pick up after them and leave the areas clean. There is a list of the various locations on the Disneyland Resort website.

I hope this is helpful and please let me know if you need anything else as you plan your magical visit!

    See you real soon!
