    Hey, Carey!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your family is going to have a blast together. Remember to take it easy and savor every experience with each other. Your mom really knows how to treat her family well and deserves some top shelf treatment herself.

For my parents, we always go the spa route because they can have a moment of bliss entirely to themselves. Senses - A Disney Spa at both Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, will treat your mom like Disney royalty with a variety of body treatments. Let her melt away with Fantasmic! facials, practically perfect in every way pedicures, magnificent manicure and magical massages. Make sure to book in advance (407-WDW-SPAS or 407-939-7727) to get the times you want. She is going to love it!

Disney Dad Tip: A trip to Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is an easy stop off the Walt Disney World Resort Monorail. Your mom could duck out of Magic Kingdom Park in the afternoon to revitalize for the evening activities. I think a Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party would be a perfect addition to celebrate your mom's birthday after the trip to the spa!

Carey, enjoy making many Magical Memories!

    Hi, Carey!
I'm so excited you've reached out to the Disney Parks Moms Panel as you plan an unforgettable visit to Walt Disney World Resort. You can see, our panelists are full of ideas, especially when it comes to celebrating.

One of the first and most visible ways to celebrate your Mom's birthday is by requesting a birthday celebration button. They are free, and it's a super fun way for Cast Members and Guests to wish her a happy birthday the entire length of your stay. The rest of the family can wear "I'm Celebrating" buttons while your little ones can wear ones that say, "First Visit."

Another new way to celebrate a birthday at Walt Disney World is by pre-ordering a cake from the new Disney Springs bakery, Amorette's Patisserie. All you have to do is order the cakes at least 72 hours in advance. Check out the website. There are SO many gorgeous cakes you can reserve to celebrate.

I can't wait to see everyone's celebration tips for you and your family. I know it's going to be magical visit!

    Hello Carey,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How wonderful that you will get to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with so many members of your family; you're going to make some very special memories!

One of my favorite places to celebrate a special occasion is California Grill in Disney's Contemporary Resort. I suggest making an Advanced Dinning Reservation for around 8:00 P.M. and then enjoying the beautiful view of Wishes nighttime spectacular fireworks over Cinderella Castle from the rooftop deck area of the Restaurant.

You could also celebrate the birthday girl with a visit to Epcot for IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party. Your whole family will enjoy a VIP view of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth while eating delicious desserts and specialty beverages from around the world!

I hope these suggestions help in planning an unforgettable visit!

    Magical Wishes,
    Susan

    Hi Carey,

There are so many fantastic ways to celebrate your mom's special occasion at the Walt Disney World Resort! My fellow panelists have already offered some fabulous ideas to commemorate her 60th birthday. I suggest making dining reservations at Victoria & Albert's. This multi-award winning Fine/Signature Dining restaurant is located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

At Victoria & Albert's mom can enjoy an unforgettable culinary journey designed by famed Chef Scott Hunnel. In the main dining room, the luxurious experience is perfectly complemented by unparalleled service and elegant surroundings. Dining in the Queen Victoria Room includes a 10-course menu paired with exclusive wines from their impressive wine cellar. Alternatively, book the Chef's Table which offers a front-row view of all the action taking place in the kitchen. Your mom will be treated like royalty, and at the end of the exquisite meal, a rose will be presented to each of the ladies in your group. To make her evening even more extraordinary, order a specialty celebration cake.

Please note this restaurant enforces a dress code. Gentlemen must wear jackets and ladies can wear cocktail dresses, dressy pant suits, or a skirt with a blouse. Furthermore, children under 10 are restricted from dining at Victoria & Albert's. However, any children in your group between 3 to 12 years of age can be scheduled at any of the supervised Children's Activity Centers or receive In-Room Childcare. So if you are looking for something truly memorable for your mom's 60th birthday, then I would definitely recommend Victoria & Albert's.

    Hi Carey,

What an exciting trip you are going to have! Celebrating both your mother's milestone birthday, as well as your little ones' first trip will be a positively magical time. My fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists have great suggestions for your mom's birthday celebration. Allow me to add to the possibilities.

If you are looking for a way for the whole family to celebrate together, how about a dinner show? These are fun for the whole family, and offer a jovial way to spend an evening together. I especially suggest the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. This foot-stomping, hoot-hollering show offers fun entertainment and delicious food. We once celebrated my brother's birthday at this show, and had a wonderful time.

Also, be sure to note on any Walt Disney World dining reservation that you make to celebrate your mother's birthday that you are celebrating this special occasion. Although this does not guarantee any special treatment, sometimes the cast members at the restaurant may notice this and wish her a happy birthday, and you may even find a special dessert heading your way. This kind of pixie dust is never guaranteed, so do not expect it, and it will be even more magical if it does happen.

Have a great time celebrating your mom's birthday at Walt Disney World, Carey!

I paused to think what would be fun for a celebration as I am about the same age as your mom. The panelists have offered so many great ideas already but what is magical about Walt Disney World is that there are endless ways to celebrate a special occasion.

If your budget can indeed be grand then I strongly suggest reserving the Grand One Yacht for a cruise around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. This is an elegant way to celebrate in style and you can add dinner or dessert such as a Mickey cake making it a memorable evening. This will also include a prime viewing of the Wishes Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.

If your mom is adventurous book the Fort Wilderness Segway Tour or the Animal Kingdom park's Wild Africa Trek Tour. These are some of the best tours on property and although they take some physical strength they are not difficult. And we all know that 60 is the new 40 these days and your mom might just feel younger on her birthday this year!

This might also be a great time to gather the family together for family portraits. Consider booking Disney's Fine Art Photography for a session to capture some memorable photographs of the family during this special time for your mom. What a wonderful gift to her and something she will treasure forever.

I am sure whatever you choose to help her celebrate it will be one of the best memories ever. I have had the privilege to spend my own birthdays at Walt Disney World and each one was extremely special.

    Hi Carey,

So wonderful to know you are planning a birthday surprise. Let me chime in with a couple of ideas for you.
How about treating the Queen of your family to an Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While you can indulge in an assortment of scones and pastries, and a great selection of international teas, the little ones can even enjoy Mrs. Potts Tea, which includes a selection of sandwiches appealing to the little princes and princesses, and "Dark Tea" (Chocolate Milk).

Now, there's nothing like a magical day at Magic Kingdom Park, with a nice lunch during the day and watch a parade and fireworks at night. With the Main Street Electrical Parade Dining Package, you can do both! Enjoy a delicious Italian lunch at Tony's Town Square Restaurant where Lady and the Tramp had their first kiss. And later in the evening, you will enjoy the Main Street Electrical Parade in a reserved VIP section of Main Street. You will also be welcomed to stay for Wishes nighttime spectacular.

Advanced reservations for these experiences are highly recommended. Just visit the Walt Disney World restaurants and reservations page, or better yet, download the My Disney Experience mobile app.

I'm sure your family will have a magical time. See you real soon!

    Ricardo.

    Hi Carey,

Happy birthday to your mom! Birthday celebrations are more magical at the Walt Disney World Resort!

My fellow panelists have given you excellent choices to celebrate mom. For my birthdays, I like crazy and the best place for crazy is Whispering Canyon Cafe in Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This restaurant loves to have fun and celebrate. One of my favorite birthday experiences was at this restaurant and I can still see the cake flying!

After dinner, stroll around this resort and then head to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to enjoy Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the beach.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

    Hello, Carey!

OK...You and your sister have the coolest Mom in the whole world!  She is like your very own Fairy GodMOTHER creating pixie dusted MAGIC for your family!  You all are going to have a truly UNFORGETTABLE time!

Walt Disney World is the PERFECT place to celebrate a birthday, and nothing says "birthday" better than ice cream!  My recommendation would be to make a dining reservation at Beaches and Cream Soda Shop located at Disney's Beach Club Resort and order the world famous Kitchen Sink! This spectacular dessert is made up of EIGHT scoops of ice cream and smothered with EVERY topping available served in a "kitchen sink" bowl!  This is something your whole family, including your children, will NEVER forget.  My family experienced this one-of-a-kind dessert a few years ago, and my kids (and their parents) still talk about the Kitchen Sink to this day!

If you have other questions, please let us know!  We are here to help in any way!

Have a MAGICAL birthday and VACATION!

    Hi Carey!

I can’t think of a better way to spend a vacation than being surrounded by the ones that you love most. I am willing to bet that it’s going to be a great First Visit for your little ones and a wonderful birthday celebration for your mom!

My fellow moms panelists have had some amazing suggestions for you! I think you may have a hard time choosing! One of my favorite places to dine is at ‘Ohana. We have dined here many times over the years especially when we are celebrating a special occasion. ‘Ohana actually translates to family. When you are welcomed into ‘Ohana they tell you that now you are part of their family. The meal is served family style and the food is absolutely delicious and plentiful. There are activities for the kids and you may even find yourself being serenaded by a Ukulele. You can plan ahead and have a cake delivered to your table after your meal is complete! I also would suggest finishing off the evening by watching the Wishes nighttime Spectacular from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resorts.

Although your family vacation will be filled with a lot of fun and excitement, make sure to take the time to slow down and soak in all of that Disney Magic. Sometimes the best memories are created when you are just enjoying being in each other’s company!

    Have an Unforgettable time!

    ~Heather~

Wow, you have some incredible suggestions here. What a wonderful thing to be part of such a thoughtful and loving family.

I think any one of the ideas from my fellow Panelists would make a wonderful birthday gift, but I do have one more for you.

I recently experienced the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour and I think it would be a fun-filled and budget-friendly gift! Your mom would spend the morning in Magic Kingdom park learning all about Walt Disney's history and a few secrets about the park! I loved every minute of this tour and hope to do it again. And as a little bonus, you'll even get a discount if you pay for the tour using a Disney Visa.

After the tour, why not meet for lunch at The Plaza Restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal with some Main Street, U.S.A. flair? It's a must-do for my family and my boys love the ice cream for dessert.

Whatever you choose, I'm wishing you a wonderful vacation and a very happy birthday to your mom!

Thanks for stopping by with your question.
