I am a mom of a three year old and have never been to disney. I have heard about the parks and have looked at the website but I am lost. I really don't know where to start. Can you help me?

    Jessica,

The first thing you need to know is that almost everything is geared towards your 3 year old.  As long as you don't push her or yourself too hard, you will have a fabulous time.

The first big decision will be where to stay.  There are three main categories - value, moderate, and deluxe.  The value resorts have Disney themes, counter service eateries, pools, and provide free transportation to all the theme parks.  The moderate resorts have all of the above amenities, but also have sit down restaurants, complimentary room refrigerators, and activities like boating and fishing.  These resorts are more sprawling with the resort rooms clustered together among outbuilding.  My favorite moderate resort is the Caribbean Beach Resort, from its main beach you can watch the fireworks over Epcot.

The deluxe resorts have multiple sit down restaurants and character meals.  Many of the best restaurants throughout WDW can be found within the these resorts.  They have larger pools with slides and other water play areas. I have stayed at three deluxe resorts and they have all been wonderful.

The next big issue will be deciding where to eat.  Know from the beginning that all of the restaurants at WDW are held to a very high standard.  Everyone has their favorites and the moms panel is a great place to get info on what we all like.  Search our site and the main Disney World site to get an idea of which you may like.  You will also want to call (407)WDW-DINE to make reservations for the restaurants you want to go to.

Once you have the dates you want to travel and the resort you want to stay at, your 90% there.  You don't need to know about every ride or come up with an hour by hour itinerary.  You can easily show up and grab a map on your way into each park.  You will find that your daughter can go on most of the rides and enjoy all the shows.

Feel free to ask us any questions that come up during your planning.
