Hi! Mom of 2 sons (10 and 15) and my husband. Staying Pop and Quick Service Dining Plan. Do you think is it worth for the money a character meal? The older was on WDW when he was 3 and the younger doesn't know about the trip.

    Hello, Eliane,

As a mom with sons who are similar in age, I went to them for their thoughts.  My sons told me they'd recommend saving the money because if they really wanted to see a character (especially for the obligatory photo), they would be fine waiting in line or using a fast-pass to Mickey Mouse at the Magic Kingdom.  To them, they saw

We've always enjoyed character dining, especially when our children were young and became so excited to meet them.  While they still get a big smile on their faces when meeting characters, it isn't as important to them as actually eating food is now (go figure, teenage boys!).  Since you've already paid for the Quick Service Dining Plan, I think I'd personally be tempted to skip the character dining with its extra costs.  Also, your children are considered adults, so you'd have to pay the higher price for everyone.

And of course once you arrive at WDW and find you'd really like to have the opportunity to dine with characters, a quick stop by any of the park's Guest Relations or Pop Century's Lobby Concierge desk can help you to check on availability.

Thank you for the question; please let us know if we can help again.
