Me and my mom are planning a mother/daughter vacation to Walt Disney World in April, but we are beginners when it comes to this whole planning thing. We wanted to know what restaurants/attractions/events are a must to visit (reservations or not). Thanks!

    Hi Courtney,

Visiting Walt Disney World Resort with my mom and sisters is so much fun! There is nothing like a girls' getaway to bring out the laughs.

Since you are visiting in April, I must sing the praises of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, which runs this year March 4 - May 17, 2015. You will definitely want to make time to take in the sights, sounds and flavors of this delightful event. I especially love visiting the Butterflies on the Go Presented by Go Go SqueeZ exhibit. And fear not! There will be many food kiosks throughout the park to find tasty treats, with no reservations required.

For a delicious meal with an unbeatable view, check out California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The food is exceptional and if you are dining late, you'll see the beautiful fireworks show over Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park. If you want to eat an early dinner and still catch the fireworks, simply return with your receipt to gain access to the observation deck. It's one of my favorite views!

I recommend making your FastPass+ selections as soon as possible. If you are a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you may start choosing your experiences 60 days prior to your arrival date. If you plan to stay elsewhere, you have 30 days in advance of arrival to make your selections.

We love enjoying the classic attractions like, "it's a small world", as well as newcomers like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, for a mix of nostalgia and adventure.

I hope this gets your planning wheels turning, Courtney. Wishing you and your mother many magical moments!
