My mom is a cancer survivor. As a result of the chemo she has neuropathy in her feet. She has trouble w/ standing and walking for long periods of time. She is capable, but I'm worried that given the intensity of Disney she may struggle. Suggestions???

    Hi Tracy,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad to hear that your mom is a cancer survivor-mine is too.  Chemo and its lasting effects can really change the lifestyle of a survivor.

Regarding the neuropathy your mom experiences, I have a few suggestions. The first is an ECV, or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (you and I might call it a scooter). These are available for rent on-site at each park but are not available to use between parks. Wheelchair rentals are available as well. If you think your mom would benefit from what I might call door-to-door service, meaning that she would need something all day long (from the time you leave your resort until you return), there are several Disney Featured Providers at the bottom of the links I've provided for you that can drop off a scooter or wheelchair at your resort and pick it up when you are ready to depart.  Costs vary depending on the provider and the duration of the rental.

An additional thing that may help your mom is using the Disability Access Service, also known as DAS. Your entire party will need to visit Guest Relations either in the first park you visit or perhaps at Disney Springs on your arrival day if you don't plan on entering a park. This will help shorten wait times for your mom so she's not on her feet so much when waiting for your favorite attractions.  The DAS is designed to be used in conjunction with the FastPass+ service.

Tracy, I'm so glad to hear your mom is healthy and I am hoping for many wonderful memories for you on this trip.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
