Which moderate resort is closest to the Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Jennifer!

On a map, the cabins at Fort Wilderness (which are considered a Disney Moderate Resort) are the closest; after that, Port Orleans Riverside.  However, with regards to the Moderate Resorts and their distance to the Magic Kingdom, there isn't really that much difference in terms of miles.  The biggest difference, in terms of time, is whether or not the resort has an internal bus system and thus you really have to take two buses to get to the Magic Kingdom.  For example, that's the case at Fort Wilderness and it happens at several resorts.

The only two Moderate Resorts I generally recommend to guests who don't have a car are Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter.  Between the two, I prefer Riverside.  I love the theming, its large pool area, and its large food court.  As a guest of one of the Port Orleans resort, you can use the services and amenities of the other.

    Good luck with your decision!
