Mobile Ordering

Hi, can I use the mobile order in parks but pay for it with cash at the hotel? I’m staying in a Disney resort hotel? I don’t intend to use card?

Hello, Karen! We're so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds like you're planning a trip across the pond to see Mickey and his pals soon!

We all know Disney is excellent at innovation, especially when it comes to improving the guest experience at the Disney Parks! Learning how to use Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World Resort can help you bypass those long mealtime queues and maximize your time spent in the parks. It's like using a FastPass+ for your meals! The app will allow you to customize your entrees, but the order will not be prepared until you arrive and tap "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" on your mobile app. The app will then notify you when your food is ready for pick up. I used it to order my family's Pandoran feast at Satu'li Canteen the other day, and I was relieved when I didn't have to wait in the line that was spilling out the door!

Currently, the only payment options when using Mobile Ordering are credit cards or debit cards. Guests participating in the Disney Dining Plan may also use meal and snack credits. I know that many UK guests want to avoid paying the high foreign transaction fees incurred by using credit cards. My advice would be to use the traditional queue instead of Mobile Ordering at Counter Service Restaurants, and then you can charge your meal back to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room using your MagicBand (which you can later pay off in cash before checking out). I experienced this myself once when I tried unsuccessfully to pay with a Disney Gift Card, and my only option was to have the cashier process the transaction. Here's a Moms Panel tip: Eat at low peak meal times to avoid long lines. I'm always hungry, so I've been known to arrive promptly at 11:00 AM when many of the Counter Service Restaurants open for lunch; eat before 5:00 PM to beat the dinner rush.

I hope you have a magical holiday, Karen! See ya' real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
