Hi Mo! It's J-Bro (HB for short) I'm planning our first ever trip to D.W. for Feb '12 with 5 yo princess Em. Where can we stay that's closest to Magic Kingdom without spending huge bucks? I need a happy medium. Contemporary? Polynesian? F.Qtr.?

    Hello HB!

I am so excited you've included the Moms Panel in the planning of your first trip to Disney World!

My first piece of advice is to always look out for deals. You can find them in one of two places. The Special Offers page can make a Disney dream vacation come true at any budget! Or if you're anxious to book your reservations now, what I sometimes like to do is use an outside travel agent like Mouse Fan Travel. For no extra cost, after you make your reservations, they will continue to check for discounts and will apply any savings for which you qualify.

Now on to the fun stuff: where to stay! My family enjoys staying at one of the Monorail Resorts for sheer convenience. The Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary have their own Monorail stops to whisk you away easily to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, which is also ideal for quick trips back to the resort for midday breaks. And in the evenings, you can hang at the beach at night and catch a glimpse of the Electrical Water Pageant!

But I have to admit, with Disney bus transportation, you're never more than a few minutes from any of the Theme Parks. From my experience, it's less than a 15 minute commute from Port Orleans - French Quarter (POFQ) to the Magic Kingdom. And so you know, POFQ is my favorite Moderate Resort. No matter what building you're assigned, I always feel as though you're close to the lobby, food court, and pool. All of the rooms have been recently renovated to include queen sized beds and granite countertops in the baths. It's gorgeous. Plus, it's Mardi Gras every day. What's not to love?

No matter what you choose, I think you and your Princess will have a magical time! Hope this helps. Wishing you faith, love, and Pixie Dust!

Meet the Panelist: Monina, Ohio

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
