Going to MNNSHP and MVMCP. Is there anything during the parties my son will be able to use his DAS card with (lines for character greets or souvenirs). He is bipolar and has trouble with waiting. I know the card works for rides, but during the parties?

    Hi Rachael ~

You have an amazing fall planned by attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) - I love it!

The Disability Access Service Card (DAS) is designed to assist Guests' needs on a more individual level. You can use the DAS during special events like MNSSHP and MVMCP. When you go to Guests Relations to obtain the DAS, I recommend that you discuss all of your son's needs. If you feel more comfortable, they can speak with you in an area that is more private to discuss your options.

You will be able to get return times for rides with your son's DAS at MNSSHP and MVMCP. As far as meet and greet locations, there have been times that we have been able to get return times for character meet and greets but not at others. Typically, we have been given return times at character meet and greet locations that are in a permanent venue like Town Square Theater. I'll be honest, I have found it to be a little inconsistent at the locations out in the open - some Cast Members were willing to give DAS return times and others were not. However, I have found that the nicer we were about it, the more success we had trying. In the locations that they did not give us a DAS return time, they at least let one of us walk around with our son while the others in our party waited in line.

I know this does not give you a definite answer but the meet and greet locations seem to be a gray area, especially during MNSSHP and MVMCP. If your son has anything that helps him wait in line (favorite toys, electronics, head phones, etc.), bring them. I try to keep my son engaged by talking to him or playing little games while we wait in line. It doesn't always work and sometimes we just have to take a deep breath and regroup.

Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you Minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
