Hi Missy, thanks for clarifying the new DAS process for me - having it linked to our Magic Bands is a great help. One final question, in order to get the return time does the person using the DAS have to be present or can anyone in the party do that?

    Hello again, Shannon!

I'm so glad I could clarify how Disability Access Service (DAS) is electronically associated with theme park media! Although the DAS recipient does not have to be present when requesting a return time to an attraction, they must be the first to scan later when you redeem it.

With my family, it depends on the attraction. My son loves to talk to Cast Members, so he often wants to use his MagicBand to request a DAS return time. There are other times when it is more convenient for me to run over to an attraction and scan my mine while my husband distracts our son with a snack or some shopping time. Once I obtain a return time, it immediately shows up in the My Disney Experience mobile app

When we redeem the DAS, my son is excited to scan his MagicBand first! Usually, the Mickey touch point will light up blue, and the Cast Member verifies the DAS. A picture of our son (DAS recipient) pops up for visual confirmation and then my husband and I are asked to scan our MagicBands before entering the queue to experience the attraction.

I hope this helps and you find DAS a helpful tool for your family! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!
